Don't worry! Your carrier might be blocking "short codes" on your line. Here's how to fix it:

  1. Call your carrier's support line at 611
  2. Request that they "Don't Block Short Codes" on your line
  3. Try the verification again

Great question! This is actually a feature, not a limitation.

Apple and Google keep tight security over your Messages app to protect you from spammers. No app can automatically send texts from your personal number without your interaction.

Features & How-To

Yes! But we recommend using YouTube links instead of attaching video files directly. Here's why:

  • Carriers compress videos heavily, killing quality
  • Large files slow down your sending
  • Videos eat up storage on both ends
💡 Upload to YouTube (even as unlisted) and paste the link. Recipients get a beautiful preview thumbnail!

  1. Tap "Create New Group"
  2. Select "Import from CSV" at the top
  3. Choose your file and map columns

Or Sync via iCloud

Import contacts through Apple iCloud on a Mac or Windows PC to sync them to your device.

Easy! Just swipe left on their name and tap "Remove from group":

We don't limit you. However, carriers have spam protection that may affect delivery.

Carrier triggers to be aware of:

  • Sending more than ~200-250 messages per day
  • Sending too quickly in rapid succession
  • Mostly one-directional conversations (no replies)
  • Identical messages without personalization
💡 Best practice: Keep groups under 200, use ::firstname:: tags, and text people who know you. Replies come naturally!

Troubleshooting

Don't worry! Hit Em Up automatically hides contacts that are missing critical info or appear to be duplicates.

To find hidden contacts:

  • In a group: Tap the blue "Hidden Members" link at the top of the group
  • Globally: Look at the bottom of your group list—hidden contacts appear under icons like 🗑️ (trash) or 👥 (duplicate)

Why are contacts hidden?

  • Missing a phone number or email
  • Duplicate of another more complete contact
  • Missing critical contact information
💡 Hidden contacts automatically unhide when you add the missing info to your address book or deduplicate your contacts. You can also manually unhide any contact anytime.

Subscribe to any paid plan to remove the signature automatically.

All paid plans (Basic and Standard) remove the watermark. If you're subscribed and still seeing it, contact our support team.

Cancel through your device's Settings app:

  1. Open Settings → tap your name at the top
  2. Tap Subscriptions
  3. Find Hit Em Up → tap Cancel Subscription
